Down at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend Petter introduced web site to Terje Sorby, from Mysen in Norway, who was the driving instructor who originally taught Petter to drive.

It was no surprise to hear that Petter passed his test first time without any accidents, however as Terje explains, it seems that there were times when he was not quite a "model pupil"!

"My first task was to try and get him to get him to forget all his bad driving habits that he had picked up when driving around the farm as a child! As a driving instructor it's difficult to get a pupil to realise how easy things can go wrong, however Petter was very serious about his driving and gave everything a great deal of thought. I wish I had more pupils like him that were so interested in driving and thinking so much about what they should do.

"There were times when he always used to argue to use his own style and it would sometimes take a while to convince him of my ideas. When he was convinced and believed you, he would do anything. "He was always so focused and 100% committed to it, which is of course the way it must be in rally."
