The 2005 Italian Rally Champions Piero Longhi & Maurizio Imerito and the SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI Gr.N maintain ex-aequo the leadership of the 2006 Italian Rally Championship for Driver and SUBARU maintains the leadership of the 2006 Italian Rally Championship for Constructors. Denis Colombini (photo), with the co-driver Flavio Guglielmini, obtains the 7th success in a row in the Under 25 classification and already gains the category's 2006 title.

This is the summary of the San Martino Rally: a round very hard for the IMPREZAs for the path characteristics. Once more time, Piero Longhi was very fast and leaded the rally until the end of Leg 1, but then was overtaken and was 4th overall at the end of the rally.

Good rally also for Andrea Perego (9th), that has raced with a temporary car beacause his Impreza was strongly damaged in the pre-event test.
