Hearing all this, you would imagine a youngster with plenty of money and talent, who doesn't know what a setback is. However, Pastrana is in fact extremely honest, polite, and humble. In the end of May 2008, Pastrana entered the PWRC Acropolis Rally. When TV cameras approach him, he speaks quickly with large hand motions like an American star, but at other times, he tries to get to know the other competitors, as one of the newbies there. He is always at the end of the line during meals, where he eats with the other PWRC drivers. If somebody from the media goes near him, he will always stand up and shake hands, saying, "Ask me anything."

"Ever since I was very little, I have been interested in anything with an engine. Early on, I learned to ride a motorcross bike which fueled my passion," explains Pastrana about his ties to motor sports. "I've always had an interest in rally; it's like motorcross with a roll cage."

For the 2008 Rally America National Championship, Pastrana returns again as the SUBARU Rally Team USA driver all his competitors are gunning to beat, this time with veteran co-driver Derek Ringer, as he holds the distinction of being the reigning two-time national title holder. Already achieving the significant milestone as youngest American U.S. rally champion in 2006, Pastrana is further adding to his rally repertoire having gained valuable international experience by participating in PWRC Argentina and Acropolis rounds this year. He looks forward to regaining X Games glory this year in his all-new 2008 SUBARU Impreza WRX STI rally car with teammate Ken Block, in an identically-prepared SUBARU, hot on his heels.

Travis Pastrana is a national superstar in his home country, America. He began successfully competing in motorcycle sports at the tender age of 4. For years, he dominated the national amateur motocross championship scene. At age 14, he was concurrently World Freestyle champion, 125cc American Motocross champion, and Supercross champion. In addition, in the popular American stadium sports event the X Games, he has won 6 gold medals in Freestyle Moto X, as well as successfully executing the renowned double back flip in 2006. He is extremely popular among youth and older fans alike as a pioneer in freestyle motorcross.

Travis entered his first national rally competition in 2004 under the guidance of SUBARU and Vermont SportsCar, an organization that has been participating in rallies in America for years. Travis quickly displayed his talent in a SUBARU Impreza, finishing 2nd in the Rally America National Championship (RANC) in his first full championship season. In 2006, Travis entered the championship with the SUBARU Rally Team USA, taking four victories, and finishing as runner up on four other occasions.
That same year, he famously earned the gold medal in the inaugural X Games Rally, which was introduced for the first time in 2006 as a new event in X Games competition, where Travis battled closely with his own hero and WRC veteran driver, Colin McRae. At 23 years of age, Pastrana won the all American title in only his 2nd full year of competition, becoming the youngest American rally champion in history.

Later that year, Travis was invited to participate in the Race of Champions held in Paris, France, as a representative of Team USA. He eventually made it into the Finals bracket for the Nations cup, beating veteran champions from F1, WRC, DTM, the Dakar Rally, and many other major motor sports categories. In the end, he lost out to Team Finland's Heikki Kovalinen and Marcus Gronholm, but the world was left flabbergasted by this 23 year-old newcomer. After setting this new record, he started competing in the PWRC in 2007 in an Impreza WRX in addition to his Rally America National Championship commitments.
