Attribution of points
To be eligible to score World Rally Championship points, manufacturers must nominate two drivers who are committed to competing on all fourteen events, with the possibility of entering a third car from event to event. Manufacturers can enter either two or three cars to be eligible for manufacturers points on each event, but only the best two crews from each team will score points for manufacturers championship purposes. A third entry to finish however will gain points in the drivers' championship.
Points will be allocated according to their relative position (a non-registered competitor or a manufacturerfs third car may not detract points from a competitor registered in the Championship). All 14 scores will count.
The points scoring system will be the same as in Formula 1 with only the first six drivers finishing each scoring
points: 1st=10pts; 2nd=6pts; 3rd=4pts; 4th=3pts; 5th=2pts; 6th=1pt.
Drivers points will be awarded similarly.
